Its really not a smart idea to bring back the person who brought fear into their lives. I don't understand why he did that to them in the first place? He knows he is wrong but he dose it to them anyways. and im really glad he had to go to prison because he deserved it for doing such a horrible thing to those poor kids. He just brought more pain into there lives and he just hurt them.    The character i like the most is Gerald because he's such a caring young man and he is always there for Angel and he takes really good care of her since they were really young. He protects her from Jordan and he is so loving and he always sticks up for her. He wanted her do do anything she wanted like dance. Angel loved to dance and she wanted to go to dance lessons but her mother thought it was a wast of time but Gerald wanted her to dance because he knew she loved to dance.    What i read today made me feel worried and scared for Angel and Gerald because Jordan came back and he says that he changed and that hes different but i dont think thats true i think hes the same person he was and im scared he will hurt the kids again. He seems like a very dangerous man and i dont think they should live their lives scared of his because what he once did to them.

Which character would you like to be like? In what way? Why? 
 The character I would most like to be like would have to be Gerald because he had a really hard life and he had to deal with allot of thing that went on in his life like having the most important person in his life die. Even though he had a hard life he still what  grew up to be a hard working person that cared for his new little sister Angel. And what the step dad Jordan had done to her. He stood up for her and helped her through the toughest times in her childhood as a 7 year old. And he got help by telling the truth to a person he trusted, and knew that he wouldn't tell. Jordan is no longer in their lives because of what Gerald did for his little sister.


How did what you read today make you feel? Why?
 In the chapters I just read I felt that Gerald did the right thing in telling the truth to protect his little sister, and his family from their step dad who abused and tried to hurt Angel the little sister. And I feel that they will have a better life without Jordan because he caused many problems in there lives and hurt many people including his family. I feel sad for Angel and all the pain and suffering that she has been through especially because she is a child and a child should not go through something like that. I also feel bad for Gerald because he went through something similar by not having a father and his mother didn't pay much attention to him.

What other character(s) beside the main character is really important to the story? How and why?   
I think that another character that is very important to the story is the mother Monique. Because she acts like Jordan is doing good things for them, but deep down inside she knows that he is a bad person and that she wants the best for her children and she doesn't want any trouble in there lives. She wants her children to grow up forgetting about there past and all that they have been through and grow up to be successful in everything they do. She is the mother of her children she should know what would be the best for them and that is not by having an abusive husband in their lives.

What i have read so far makes me feel sad because this little boy had to be separated from his mother and he had no father so we had to live with his aunt who is in a wheelchair. and 6 years later on his birthday his aunt tells him that his mother is coming to visit. he dose not know if he really wants to see her again. After his mother comes to visit she wants him to live with her but the little boy dose not want to. The next day his aunt had a heart attack and died so he was forced to live with his mother again. One thing i wonder about this book is how this little boy's life will be after his aunt dies and his life living with his mother who use to beat and burn him. I wonder if he will be able to have a normal life or having his life stay the same and accept that his aunt the only person who really cared about him died. I would most want to be like the little boys aunt because she was very caring towards him and she was the only one who really wanted to help the little boy become a normal person after what his mother had done to him. She never was mean to him or hurt him like his mother was and she tried her best to make this little boy's life be amazing.
