Journal Entry- Lennie's Perspective

Dear diary,

I am so excited i got my new pup. Its so soft and cute, i love it so much! i wish i could sleep with em' tonight but George said ill kill em' if i do. Hopefully i can sleep next to em' every night when it gets older. I want to pet em' everyday, all day.

George said we can go and live in our new house in a month! i am so excited, i cant wait to have all of em' rabbits so i can pet them whenever i want to. I will be so happy! Candy's also gonna live with us because he is getting old. But i cant wait, we're gonna live of the fatta the lan', it's a dream come true!

This afternoon was bad though. Curley came in and started yelling at me, i did not do anything!
He walked to me screaming, then cornered me against the wall. I begged him to stop he punched me in the face so many times. I yelled at George to help me but he just stood there like nothing was going on. Then finally George told me to fight back. Blood was coming from my face, my heart was beating faster. Curley trough a punch, i caught it and held on, he screamed so i held on tighter. I finally let go. After i thought George was going to be mad at me for alla this but he was not, even know we almost lost our jobs.

Sincerely,
Lennie

Journal Entry- George's Perspective

Dear Diary,

I hate that I always have to look out for him. Why can't he be like the rest of us! sometimes he just dose not know when to stop, like when he wanted to feel that little girls dress. She screamed and he got nervous so he held on tighter. He was just tryin' to feel her dress but it did not look that way. I know he dose not mean to do all this, but sometimes it drives me insane. We are trying to work towards our dream to have our own farm and own rabbits for him but he is being derogatory.

At times i think about how my life would be without him, in a recumbent position in the warm sand at the beach. But I just don't think I could live without that crazy fella I call my friend. We don't always get along but i love him to death!

When I get really annoyed with him i just need to remind myself to stay mollified before i get too crazy. And i cant believe this curly guy, he's so selfish and he is very pugnacious. He tried to get in a fight with Lennie. He better watch out before something really bad happens to him.

Sincerely,
George Milton

of Mice and Men post 2

1. George and Lennie act like siblings. They don't always get along but deep down he really cares about him and he wants the best for Lennie. They help each other in any problems they might have. George is always there for Lennie and they are mostly with each other even know George might not want Lennie with him all the time, but they are still friends no matter what.

2. George and Lennie's dream is to one day have their own farm with a lot of acres and lots of rabbits so lennie can pet them. They also want to make rich creamy milk. They also wanted their own house so George did not have to worry about lennie all the time. George and Lennie also wanted to have a lot of there own money. I think this dream could be realistic if they really work hard and try to succeed.

3. I think George thinks that migrant workers are the loneliest people in the world because there always traveling and they only have themselves, unlike George and Lennie who have each other. Migrant workers also are the loneliest people in the world because they can never settle down and have a family or have friends of their own. Lennie and George are different because George is unhappy about his life and how he has to deal with Lennie. Lennie is different because he is happy as long as he has something to pet, and if he is with his friend George.

three questions

1. Its not that we have to have friends, its that we need to have friends in our lives. Friends are people who help you to do the right things and to help you when you need them the most. They are the people who make you feel special and they make our lives happier everyday.
2. A good friend is always there for you no matter what. A good friend helps you in times you need them the most. A good friend stands up for you in any situation. A good friend  never leaves you out.
3. One of my big dreams in life is to become successful. Although i don't know quite yet what i want to be when i grow up. I hope i will enjoy the rest of my life and have a happy ending to my book of life.

favorite book I read in 7th grade

My favorite book is I Know Why the Cage Bird Sings. I read it in 7th grade in Mr. Terronez's class. I Know Why the Cage Bird Sings is an autobiography by Maya Angelou. I Know Why the Cage Bird Sings follows Marguerite's (later called maya) young life in the South. Abandoned by their parents at an early age, she and her older brother Bailey move in with their grandmother and disabled uncle in Stamps, Arkansas. Maya Angelou's book explores how her blossoming character helped her deal with rape, sexism, prejudice, and loneliness growing up.
